    Just finished reading your article “Wave of Superfluous…”. Your comments on the direction social interfacing appears to be taking is right on the mark. Let em share something that I observed that reinforces your position.

    I was in Pompono Beach Fl recently and decide that I would go down to the fishing pier and watch the sunrise. Just as the red an gold streaks started to paint themselves across the sky, I decided to buy a cup of coffee to make the event twice as enjoyable.

    A young couple was ahead of me at the counter. As I waited for my turn I watched the sunrise and how the streaks of color grew bolder and bolder.

    I turned to the couple, wondering why they had not said a word while the panorama was unfolding before us…. They were both texting! At 6 AM…

    I wondered as they texted away, why they bothered to come to the beach. Apparently up-close social interaction is slowly becoming obsolete. It was sad…
